About the desk
Sats & Sense is an independent, bitcoin-only guide to buying and selling BTC safely. We are not a bank, an exchange or a financial adviser — we explain the process, plainly and honestly.
What we do
We teach one subject in depth: how to buy and sell bitcoin safely. That means the mechanics — where to buy, how funding methods compare on cost, why bitcoin ATMs are so expensive, how to move BTC into self-custody, and how to cash out — not tips on when to buy or what the price will do. We cover bitcoin specifically because it is the coin most first-time buyers reach for, and it deserves a guide that respects how much can go wrong.
What we will never do
We do not make price predictions, tell you whether to buy, or promise returns. Bitcoin is volatile and you can lose money; anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Nothing on this site is financial, tax or legal advice — it is education to help you make your own informed decision and avoid the fees and scams that catch beginners.
How we keep it honest
We date every fee, eligibility and legality claim, present numbers as bands rather than false precision, and say plainly when something can't be verified. We name real failures — Mt. Gox, FTX, Celsius — because honesty about risk is the whole point. Some links are affiliate links, and several options we recommend (Bitstamp, and self-custody wallets like MetaMask, Trust and Exodus) pay us nothing; we say which, and a payout never changes a recommendation. See our affiliate disclosure for the full detail.
